The Vintage Housewife was created to share my love of all things vintage, and to delight in the routine and ritual of keeping a house in vintage spirit… With joy, kindness, and generosity. I believe that as modern women, we can fill every aspect of our homes, families, and ourselves with creativity, comfort, and calm.

Deep Cleaning Weekly Chores

Weekly chores are “cleaning projects”, jobs that require a little more time and effort than general picking up and tidying.

My 5 am. Morning Routine

Mornings can be rough, but they are also the foundation that the rest of the day builds upon, so I try to make sure I start my day on the right note.

A New Year, New Vintage Housewife Daily Schedule Printable

To kick the new year off I have freshened up the Vintage Housewife Daily Schedule Printable, and I have also added some bonus pages this year to help you track your daily chores.

2019 Reader Survey

I can't wait to document my progress with the Vintage Housewife Challenge in 2019, but I know there is more we can explore, and other areas of life we can cultivate together, and rather than try to guess, I thought I'd just ask you directly.

Merry Christmas

A very Merry Christmas to all who are celebrating today! I hope your day is filled with warmth, love, laughter, and delicious food.

Is it just me, or does the end of the school year = total craziness?

My school district loves to pack in ALL.THE.FIELD TRIPS, incentive days, field days, banquets, award ceremonies, concerts, and random half days in the last two weeks of school. I understand it is just the natural trajectory of the school year, but boy does it make things busy! It is times like this when I really rely heavily on my paper planner.

What I am Working On….

I have been working on a DIY Quick and Easy Father’s Day gift to share with you, and I can’t wait to get it posted!

On the menu for this week….

Last week was very hot for the end of May, but June is starting out on a much cooler note, so I am going to enlist the help of my slow cooker to help me this week!

Monday: Grilled Chicken Caesar Wraps
Tuesday: Slow-Cooker Asian Beef
Wednesday: Leftovers
Thursday: Slow Cooker Honey Lime Ginger Pork
Friday: Easy Cast Iron Skillet Pizza
Saturday: Slow cooker meatball subs
Sunday: Shrimp Scampi

On my to-do list….

This week is going to be incredibly busy, we have school and sports events (concerts, banquets and award ceremonies) every night this week, and we are wrapping up planting on the farm (corn, soybeans, and farmstand produce). So I am keeping things super simple this week:

  • 3 loads of laundry per day (sadly this barely keeps us caught up)
  • Clean the refrigerator
  • Create a welcome email for my new email subscribers!

Looking forward to this week….

Last week I wasn’t feeling well, and I ended up on antibiotics that upset my stomach and spent a lot of time not doing much of anything. I am looking forward to getting my house back in shape, and getting back into the swing of things.

Looking around the house….

I would like to get rid of a futon we have in our 3 season room this week, it is bulky and no one uses it. But, it turns out getting rid of a futon (even one in good condition) is harder than you would imagine.

My one big goal for this week…

Get rid of the futon, and clean 3 season room 🙂

Well, back to getting caught up. I hope your week is off to a great start! What do you have planned?

I have been considering sharing more of our family farm activities, would that be something you would be interested in? Let me know!

Blessings,

There I was in a hot yoga studio with plenty of bright natural light and bending myself into pretzel like positions for the very first time.
